$1.21 Million For Bach in Idyllic Golden Sand Retreat After Spirited Bidding

Spirited bidding last night (Wednesday 1 March) at the Harcourts Nelson auction room saw two determined bidders take the price of a ten year old two bedroom rustic style bach in the Awaroa Inlet, Tasman to $1.21 million.

Owner of Harcourts Nelson, Paul Hedwig, said all bidders were New Zealanders, including the successful bidder who is currently living overseas.

He noted that while a ‘classic Kiwi bach’ style, the property did attract a lot of interest due to a number of key features “It’s absolute beachfront set in the Abel Tasman National Park with access only by boat, helicopter or around half an hour’s walk from the nearest track.”

Mr Hedwig added, “the setting is quite magnificent in native bush a few metres above the golden sand beach looking straight across the Awaroa Inlet with some of New Zealand’s (and arguably the world’s) finest water, beach and bush scenery.”

He noted that the continuing popularity of coastal property was seeing premium prices still being achieved based on realistic seller expectations and strong marketing.
