Top journalists join The Business
The Business - The New Zealand Herald's new business weekly - is delighted to announce it has secured the services of two of New Zealand's best business journalists to join newly-appointed editor Karyn Scherer.
Rebecca Macfie has been appointed senior writer and deputy editor of the NZ Herald's new weekly publication.
A former editor and deputy editor of Unlimited magazine, Ms Macfie has written extensively for The Independent Business Weekly and National Business Review. She has 18 years' experience in journalism and is an award-winning business writer.
Christine Nikiel, who has previously written for the National Business Review, joins The Business as a journalist. Ms Nikiel is a past joint winner of a Douglas Myers Media Scholarship which she used to study and write about transport issues in the United States.
The Business is a top-end business publication providing a destination for business readers to understand what's really going on behind the news.
The full colour, 32-page compact lift-out will cover international business stories and reports from the main financial capitals of the world and will be published as part of Monday's Herald from February 27.
Karyn Scherer says she is looking forward to working with her new team and to meeting the demand in the market for the new publication.
"Both Rebecca and Christine are well respected in business and bring great skills to their respective positions. Their insights and abilities will be invaluable in pursuing our objective of canvassing the big business issues of the week at the start of the week."
