American Express says for Valentine’s day, surprises is in the delivery
AUCKLAND, Feb. 14 /MediaNet International - AsiaNet/ --
Romance is alive and well among the well-to-do, and simplicity is the theme for Valentines Day 2006, but surprise is in the presentation, according to American Express’ elite Platinum Concierge Service.
The Concierge Service fulfils the special requests of Platinum Cardmembers who are known for their exquisite tastes and love of luxury. For Valentines Day the Concierge Service reports that sourcing red roses and booking top restaurants has again dominated requests.
The twist comes with creative requests for delivery of the traditional symbols of romance.
One request was for 30 red roses to celebrate a 30th wedding anniversary in the middle of the South Island. The delivery mechanism, however, had to be an S-class Mercedes.
Another generous Platinum Cardmember, who was also a businessman, sought assistance to choose a Valentines Day gift up to the value of $100 for every member of his staff.
As for romance around the world… requests for assistance were received to help arrange:
* A wedding proposal in the bell tower of a 300 year old church on the Amalfi coast complete with Gypsies playing music
* A diver to drag a treasure chest with an engagement ring inside onto a beach for a Cardmember who was to be walking along with his beloved ready to propose
* A box of handcrafted personalised chocolates created by a Swiss chocolatier purchased and flown to Australia.
Gabrielle Milling, manager of the Platinum Concierge Service for American Express said: “Our Cardmembers never cease to amaze us with their imagination when it comes to treating loved ones. This time of year is always a busy period for us and we like nothing better than assisting Cardmembers who want something a little out of the ordinary for that special person in their life.”
