Ten Players Win $20,000 Or More in One Keno Draw

Media Release 8 February 2006

Historical Day for Keno – Ten Players Win $20,000 Or More in One Draw

Ten players won $20,000 or more in a record breaking day for Keno yesterday, says NZ Lotteries Chief Executive Trevor Hall.

"Last night's 6pm draw has smashed records because until now the most we've had in one draw is three winners of more than $20,000.

"Yesterday one Christchurch player won $40,000, nine players across New Zealand won $20,000, two $10,000 prizes, two players won $4,000 and another five won $2,000. It's been a massive draw for Keno players, creating a large number of winners.

"In total nineteen Keno players have won prizes worth more than $258,000 in last night's 6pm Keno draw.

"The draw had some great numbers that many of our players seem to be backing. I'd like to urge all Keno players to get their tickets checked at any one of our lottery outlets around the country."
