Icon tourism company appoints CEO

PRESS RELEASE
31 January, 2006

Icon tourism company appoints CEO, restructures marketing team

From its beginnings in 1988, AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand has become a world renowned adventure tourism company recognised for innovation, edgy company culture and an awesome range of products.

Much of the company's success has been attributed to visionary leadership which in 2006 moves into the capable hands of previous Group General Manager Michelle Trapski. As CEO of AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand, Michelle brings a three year affiliation with the company and an extensive knowledge of the domestic and Queenstown tourism industry to the new role.

AJ Hackett Bungy co founder and director Henry van Asch says Michelle will work with the group’s board of directors to provide direction and leadership focussed on maintaining core values while moving forward with new product and innovations.

"Michelle has 20 years of tourism and hospitality experience holding senior business positions in Queenstown and throughout New Zealand. Our industry is about people, personal challenge, innovation, fun and adventure, Michelle has won awards for her achievements in human resources and is very experienced in delivering to market expectations... we are delighted to announce this appointment."

Supporting the CEO is a new sales and marketing team structured to harness the natural abilities of talented people already employed within the organisation.

Tim Fulton moves into the role of Group Sales and Marketing manager while Mike Voyce steps up to become the Group Product Manager. Wade Eagar is Sales Manager – AJ Hackett Bungy Queenstown while Jo Brown is Sales Manager – AJ Gear.

"We had a huge year behind the scenes last year. We built and moved into new headquarters where we can all work under the one roof, we opened the Winehouse and Kitchen and launched the new Secrets of Bungy Tour product. Now we have the people and management structure in place to take our businesses to the next phase," says Mr van Asch.
