with Tiger Beer and the
Sage when they take you on a
journey to unmask the mysteries of the Far East, reveal
exotic truths and discover the Tiger in you.
During March, Tiger Beer and the Sage will host an Asian Reunion Banquet in a secret location somewhere in Auckland. Guests will be treated to a night of pure Asian indulgence that will combine theatre, cuisine and art in ways never seen before.
Preparing and designing the menu for the Banquet is world renowned Chef and Restaurateur David Williams, while NZ’s top visual manipulator and set designer Mike Hodgson will create an unforgettable atmosphere of mystery, magic and intrigue.
Known as the Chinese New Year in the West, the Spring Festival is the most important festival in the Chinese calendar. This year’s Chinese New Year festivities to celebrate the Year of the Dog run from Sunday 29th January 2006 (New Years day) until Sunday 12th February culminating in a three day lantern festival in Auckland.
The festival traditionally celebrates the earth coming back to life and the start of ploughing and sowing so food plays an important role in the festivities. Much of the food has symbolic meaning – the shape or colour symbolizes happiness, prosperity and good fortune. For example, a gift of two Mandarins is considered a symbol of prosperity as they resemble gold nuggets.
Central to the celebrations also is time given to catching up and reuniting with family and friends.
Tiger Beer is offering New Zealanders a chance to reunite with friends and family with a truly unique Asian Banquet experience. Winners and their friends will be flown to Auckland to experience an evening of magic, intrigue and discovery courtesy of their mysterious host, the Sage. This journey will be an amazing and entertaining experience fusing theatre, food and ancient traditions in an unforgettable evening that will ignite all the senses.
Entries can be made by purchasing Tiger Beer from selected Foodtown, Woolworths or Countdown stores. Entries close 19th Feb and winners will be drawn on 24h February 2006.
