Singapore Airlines Wishes Racers Bon Voyage!
Riders in New Zealand’s premier hill race event could be peddling their way to romantic Paris.
Singapore Airlines has been announced as major sponsor of Le Race 2006, New Zealand’s premier hill cycling event that is set to be bigger and better than ever, and is offering flights to the French capital city to competitors and spectators.
Le Race is set amongst the beautiful landscape of the Christchurch plains, where competitors ride 100km of fast flats, challenging hill climbs and exhilarating downhills that take them from Christchurch, across an extinct volcano, to the unique French village of Akaroa.
Singapore Airlines is giving away flights to Paris in two competition draws, one for competitors and one for race spectators on the day. Competitors will be given a Singapore Airlines boarding pass before crossing the start line, which will be their entry to the grand prize drawn at the end of the race.
And for local Cantabrians supporting race competitors there will be a second prize draw for spectators, who will also be given the chance to win the Singapore Airlines trip to Paris.
Hugh Chevrant, Singapore Airlines South Island Manager, who will himself be competing in the grueling event, says he is delighted to be taking part. “Singapore Airlines is thrilled to have this opportunity to give back to the community and excited to be offering this fabulous trip to the wonderful city of Paris. On behalf of Singapore Airlines I wish all competitors the best of luck for the event,” he says.
Le Race will take place on Saturday 25 March 2006. For more information on Le Race go to www.lerace.co.nz
