Radioworks Number One Radio Group in NZ
RadioWorks, operators of More FM, The Edge, The Rock, Solid Gold, Radio Live, The Breeze, Kiwi FM and Radio Pacific/Radio Trackside are extremely pleased with the long term trends revealed in the latest commercial radio listenership survey released today.
“RadioWorks collectively now has the largest total audience of any radio group in the country, with 1.35 million listeners every week,” said CanWest MediaWorks CEO, Brent Impey.
“I’m also delighted our network ‘The Edge’ has retained its position as the music network with the most listeners in New Zealand,” he said.
The Edge now attracts a solid 420,200 listeners per week.
The Rock is the number one radio station for all male listeners aged 10 plus throughout New Zealand*, as well as being number one for all people aged 25-44*. It has also moved up a place to be the third most listened to music station in the country with 348,100 listeners a week.
“More FM has also enjoyed a solid result across the country, and with the 16 new stations which have joined the More FM stable it now has a powerful presence in 21 markets nationally,” he said.
More FM enjoys a nationwide listenership of 345,000 per week.
“Radio Live has exceeded our expectations with its nationwide launch just before the start of the survey period,” Mr Impey said.
“To launch a nationwide radio network on one day was a mammoth undertaking, and to have picked up a 2.3% share nationally is a tremendous start for this important, long-term strategic move for the Company.
“Programme Director Mitch Harris and his team has done a superb job in creating a completely fresh radio brand, which is enjoying a high profile in the market,” he said.
Radio Live’s first survey attracted an audience of 116,300 listeners.
Group Programme Director, Jana Rangooni is particularly happy with the on-going consistent performance of The Rock and The Edge.
“These are stations which know their target audience instinctively, and the programming and marketing of these very successful brands is evident in this excellent audience response,” Ms Rangooni said.
