New service will cut fuel costs
A new service being offered by Beaurepaires will ensure that every car that crosses the forecourt gets a free air pressure check and the spare tyre and due date for wheel alignment are checked.
“If any customer drives away without the check being made and the Beaurepaires Three Point Label applied to the windscreen, they will receive a full refund for the tyres or service they have just purchased,” Brian Burchmore, Beaurepaires national retail operations manager, said today.
“Every car will have their correct air pressure recorded on the label. We know from experience that large numbers of cars are running around with under-inflated tyres. Most drivers simply don’t know what the correct pressure should be.
“Every 10 percent under the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressure costs 2.5 percent more fuel. That’s effectively adding nearly four cents to the price of a litre of fuel. Over the course of a few months that adds up to a lot of money… and the air and the tyre pressure service are free.
“Correct tyre pressures ensure the car’s handling and brakes work as the manufacturers intended. This pressure check service is an added safety measure from which drivers can take confidence,” Brian said.
“We also know that most drivers never look at their spare tyre and too often, if they need the spare, it is low on air. We guarantee to check the pressures on every customer’s car.
“All our stores throughout the country are required to deliver this service to our customers. Otherwise the customer gets their purchase for free regardless of whether its four ute tyres and a wheel alignment or a puncture repair,” he said.
