Saatchi & Saatchi to lead strategic advertising for TVNZ
TVNZ has chosen Saatchi & Saatchi to take a new role as its strategic advertising agency for its core brands TV ONE, TV2 and TVNZ.
The appointment is the culmination of a rigorous pitch process for an agency to meet TVNZ's advertising needs.
Sue Brewster, General Manager of Marketing, says that while Saatchi & Saatchi has had a long term relationship with TVNZ, its appointment is premised on a new strategic partnership. "Saatchi & Saatchi's strategic brand propositions, client management structures and demonstrated creative ability provided an overall winning combination."
"Saatchi & Saatchi have a clear strategic framework that will allow both organisations to deliver on our long term objectives."
The decision to pitch the advertising business was made in June 2005 and was based on the need to consolidate brand planning and marketing strategies under a single strategic umbrella. TVNZ used a comprehensive process to appoint the new agency. The decision was made by a six member internal panel which assessed all pitch documents and presentations. The process was overseen by a TVNZ Strategic Procurement specialist to ensure compliance with supplier selection criteria required of a Crown Owned Company. In addition the process was monitored by TVNZ's Audit Department.
Starcom remains as TVNZ's media agency and Big Communications continues as the agency for Interactive and Trade Marketing advertising.
