Leading HR practitioner joins Beca
Engineering, planning and management consultancy Beca has appointed Paul Loof to the role of director – human resources and business services. Paul is responsible for a number of functions including HR, marketing, quality and corporate services for the Beca group and will lead a team of over 70 staff.
“The purpose of the role is for these functions to drive the success and growth of the business both domestically and around the world,” says Paul Loof, who is looking forward to the new role in the employee-owned professional services company with 1600 staff.
For the last five years Paul has held the
role of managing director for Watson Wyatt NZ Ltd., a
leading global human capital consulting firm with 6000
associates. Previously he has been a founder director and
shareholder of New Zealand’s largest HR consultancy firm,
Green Hanson Loof and Beattie.
Other roles Paul has held
include acting general manager – HR for a large public
company and the head of marketing for National Insurance.
Paul has over 15 years’ consulting experience and has completed major assignments in a wide range of industries including retail, food and general manufacturing, construction, meat, dairy, forestry and health. His specialist areas include employee/labour relations, human capital stations for improved organisational performance, culture change, and the people dimensions of mergers, acquisitions and restructuring.
