Final Reminder To Vote In Fonterra Elections

Final Reminder To Vote In Fonterra Elections

Fonterra shareholders still have time to cast their vote via fax or internet in their co-operative's elections.

Voting closes at midday on Monday 10 October and it is now too late for postal votes to be received in time to be counted.

However shareholders can still return their forms by fax or vote on-line through www.fencepost.com .

Returning Officer Warwick Lampp urged all shareholders to exercise their right to vote as soon as possible and have a say.

"With less than three days to go only 25 per cent of shareholders have voted. Any shareholder who has lost or not received their voting pack, should contact me immediately for a replacement.

"This year, secure voting through Fencepost.com is proving to be as popular as voting by fax. It is also a faster option for those last minute voters."

There are elections for Shareholders' Councillors in Ward 13 Hauraki and Ward 17 South Taranaki as well as four candidates for the two available positions on the Directors' Remuneration Committee.

Results will be announced by the Board Chairman at Fonterra's Annual Meeting in Whangarei on Tuesday 11 October 2005.

This year there is no election for the Fonterra Board of Directors as the three sitting directors, Greg Gent, Earl Rattray and Jim van der Poel, were elected unopposed.

Any queries regarding the elections should be directed to the Election Hotline on 0508 666 446.
