Mazda MX-5 Drivers to
Set World Record
Hundreds of Mazda MX-5 owners in New
Zealand will attempt to create a Guinness Book of World
Record attempt when they converge at Alexandra Park,
Auckland on October 9, 2005 at 11.30am.
To officially celebrate the arrival of the world’s best-selling open top sports car, Mazda has invited all owners of Mazda MX-5’s to participate in setting another world record – this time for the largest parade of Mazda MX5s.
The event has already generated huge interest among MX-5 drivers, with members of the New Zealand MX-5 Clubs driving from as far as Christchurch to participate in the one-day event.
Mazda New Zealand’s general manager of sales and marketing, Andrew Clearwater, says that there has been much buzz around the unveiling of the new model both locally and around the globe.
“The Mazda MX5 is such an iconic car, selling record numbers since it launched in 1989. Mazda New Zealand wanted to create an exhilarating event for a great car and nothing can be more exhilarating than setting a world record.”
For more information, MX-5 owners can visit Mazda’s website www.mazda.co.nz or to register for the event contact Eileen Lorenzo on 09 379-2121.
