New look franchise awards receive a high calibre of entries Westpac New Zealand 2005 Franchise Awards
The Franchise Association of New Zealand (FANZ) Chairman, Mike Henderson, says The Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards 2005 entries are of a higher calibre compared with previous years.
“We have seen a noticeable lift in the standard of entries received to the 2005 Franchise Awards. This is largely due to the ‘new look’ format that the association have adopted which sees entrants judged against their related industry peers,” he says.
Now in their 11th year, the Franchise Awards celebrate the high performers in franchising an industry worth well over $10 billion to New Zealand. The ‘new look’ format for 2005 sees the total number of awards reduced. Entries will now be divided in to five distinct sector categories - Business Services, Home Services, Lifestyle Services, Food and Beverage, and Retail. Franchise Awards Senior Judge Gael McDonald is pleased with the 2005 entries received.
“The initial calibration meeting with judges is indicative of a much higher quality of entries than in previous years. The new format now provides the best opportunity for entrants to be benchmarked against similar organizations. It’s a matter of comparing apples with apples,” she says.
Awards for each sector will be made for top franchise system and top franchisee in each of the five categories, and from these ten winners the supreme titles of Westpac Franchise System of the Year, and Westpac Franchisee of the Year will be named.
Westpac continue to support the franchise association and strengthen their position, moving into the leading role as overall sponsors of the accolades, implementing the brand new title of The Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards 2005.
“Westpac is proud to sponsor the 2005 New Zealand Franchise Awards. This forms part of our long standing partnership with the Franchise Association and commitment to driving business excellence in the franchising industry. We applaud all those businesses that have taken the opportunity to enter into these awards," says Daniel Cloete, National Franchising Manager – Westpac.
Kerri Woodham will host the black-tie awards ceremony held on Saturday 12th November at Auckland’s Sky City Convention Centre where the 2005 winners will be announced.
