Barfoot & Thompson Dominates Property Management Awards
- Top property manager for the second year in a row -
Leading Auckland real estate firm Barfoot & Thompson dominated the Real Estate Institute's Property Management Awards in Taupo at the weekend, occupying three of the four finalist positions and taking out the supreme award.
Darryl Goode of Barfoot & Thompson's Mt Eden branch took the top award for service excellence, based on the feedback from his own landlords and tenants.
Professional property managers enter the awards by sending a comment form to the people they do business with. Their landlords and tenants then return their responses directly to the REINZ, so the individual property managers don't know what their clients have said about them.
Darryl Goode says he's thrilled to have won. "This award was up for grabs by any property manager at any real estate company anywhere in New Zealand. My team and I are delighted to have been judged the best of the best - especially given it was based on the comments from the landlords and tenants that we work with every day."
One of the landlords whose comments contributed to Darryl's win described him as the best property manager he'd dealt with in 18 years in the business. The landlord, who owns 12 properties, said that over the past five years Darryl had kept them fully occupied, well maintained and had a good personable manner with both landlord and tenant alike.
Darryl says "It's been lovely to have such great feedback from the people I work with - I always try to give great service and clients often comment that I have gone the extra mile for them."
Other finalists from Barfoot & Thompson were Colin Chan from Epsom branch and Kim Tupou from Otahuhu branch.
Barfoot & Thompson Director Peter Thompson says, "We are extremely proud of our outstanding property managers and congratulate Darryl on his win; and Colin and Kim for being selected as finalists. This is the second year in a row that a Barfoot & Thompson property manager has won."
Barfoot & Thompson manages investment properties across Auckland and Northland on behalf of more than 6,000 landlords.
