Fashion Forces And Famous Faces Unite To Prevent Violence In The Home
EziBuy supported by a star studded line-up launches a major campaign.
EziBuy, New Zealand's favourite catalogue company is proud to announce the launch of one of the largest fashion charity initiatives in the southern hemisphere.
A specially commissioned range of sleepwear, to be known as Handle with Care is being launched in Auckland at Government House tonight (17 August, 2005) featuring a cross section of famous New Zealand women dressed in the garments.
The joint venture is an alliance between EziBuy and one of New Zealand's favourite and most successful international fashion designers Trelise Cooper. Proceeds from the sale and promotion of the range will be donated to the Handle with Care foundation in support of Preventing Violence in the Home, a charity that works to support at risk women and children in New Zealand. Governor General, Dame Silvia Cartwright is the patron of the charity and will host the launch event.
Famous faces from the worlds of TV, film, fashion and sport will launch the campaign by modelling the signature Handle with Care butterfly t-shirts. Television personality Lana Coc-Kroft, Oscar-nominated actress Keisha Castle-Hughes, world champion Silver Fern, Temepara George and fashion designer Sally Ridge will be joined by George's daughter Justine and Ridge's daughter Jaime to showcase the diversity of the range of nightgowns and pyjamas.
As Australasia's largest apparel and home catalogue company, EziBuy will use its database of over a million customers, five retail stores and on-line shopping service to drive the campaign.
Trelise Cooper has donated her time and skill to creating a range of pyjamas and sleep wear for the catalogue giant. Over a 12 month period Trelise will design a total of four collections for EziBuy, who will market and sell the range here and across the Tasman.
Managing Director of EziBuy Gary Rohloff says the three way partnership is a perfect fit for all the parties involved.
The charity connection is an opportunity for EziBuy to promote its concerns about the safety of New Zealanders. "Domestic Violence is an issue that affects New Zealanders from all walks of life and EziBuy is committed to helping New Zealanders feel safe and secure in their own homes. The opportunity to work with one of our most talked-about and successful designers, Trelise Cooper was an easy decision for the company and it's fantastic to be able to offer her distinctive style as a surprise addition in our catalogue."
Averaged out across the collection, approximately $15 per garment sold will be donated to the Handle With Care campaign.
