Freedom Air Rewards Cantabrians With $39 Fare To Oz
It's never been cheaper to fly across the Tasman, particularly if you live in Canterbury. Today Freedom Air announced $39 one way internet only fares from Christchurch to Australia's Gold Coast.
The move is designed to strengthen its position in the Canterbury market with the growth in competition from other airlines and is part of Freedom's commitment to helping Cantabrians fly.
Rachel Gardiner, Freedom's Sales and Marketing Manager, says Freedom believes Kiwis like to fly with a familiar face, particularly if it is New Zealand-owned. "We're making it easy for them to remain loyal to Freedom by offering the best fares in the market."
The special really, really small fare is on sale today until 10 August and is for travel from 1 December to 25 March, making it perfect for Christmas and summer holidays. The fares apply to all of Freedom's four weekly services to the Gold Coast.
The NZD$39 one way fare is for internet bookings only and excludes taxes and surcharges. In essence it will cost only NZD$245.18 to fly Christchurch - Gold Coast and return.
"Fares this low aren't sustainable in the long term but we're not prepared to stand by and watch our passengers choose other airlines. Cantabrians have been loyal to us so far so now we're rewarding them and helping more of them fly the Tasman with Freedom Air," Rachel Gardiner says.
