An organic focused Wellington beauty products company and a design-led
Palmerston North specialist engineering firm took top honours at the
inaugural Export New Zealand Wellington region, 'ANZ Wellington Exporter
of the Year Awards' on Thursday night.

Trilogy Botanicals was named 'Atradius Credit Insurance Emerging Exporter
of the Year 2005' while Noske-Kaeser New Zealand won the 'Gibson Sheat
Lawyers Exporter of the Year 2005' award, announced at the sell-out gala
event.

"Six strong finalists have made our first regional awards a great
success," said Export New Zealand, CEO, Bob Walters. "The diverse spread
of their sectors and locations demonstrates the richness of exporter
activity in the region".

As the Wellington region Emerging Exporter winner, Trilogy Botanicals goes
forward as a finalist for the Export New Zealand National Emerging
Exporter of the Year 2005, to be presented at the NZTE Export Awards in
Christchurch on 11 August, 2005.

Trilogy Botanicals select only the finest natural extracts, restricting
their raw materials to premium, certified organic plants to prepare their
superior range of skin health products.

Judges said Trilogy's achievements dominated the field for export
newcomers in their first three years and their foresight has been rewarded
with rapid sales growth.

"Sisters Sarah Gibbs and Catherine Wells set out to create a global export
brand, making a significant commitment to design and product presentation,
as well as investing early on in a careful choice of distribution
partners".

Noske-Kaeser NZ has gained some export leverage from its parent's
international connections,

but has strongly stepped up as a leader in its own right, designing and
delivering high performance air conditioning units for transport and
defence clients, with innovative products conceived and customised in New
Zealand.

With almost 100 percent of its production going overseas, not only had the
company's export value increased threefold in the last three years, its
customer base across Australia and the United States was now being
increased by emerging business in Asia and Europe.

As a design-led, manufacturer, Noske-Kaeser says that already 80 percent
of its sales are of products and services developed in the last five
years, and that percentage is climbing.

Judges said they were impressed with the quality of the processes in the
specification, bidding, design and pricing process, where harmonisation
between the technical and commercial areas provided winning solutions for
customers.
