CCANZ APPOINTS NEW CHIEF
EXECUTIVE
The Cement and Concrete Association of New Zealand (CCANZ) has appointed Patrick McGuire to the position of Chief Executive.
CCANZ Chairman Rex Williams says he is delighted with the appointment.
“The team at CCANZ is pleased to have Patrick on board as he will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Association,” says Mr Williams. “He has strong industry representation, and project and consulting engineering experience, while also having substantial relationships with relevant bodies within the concrete industry.”
Mr McGuire has been Executive Director of the Concrete Pipe Association of Australasia, based in Sydney, for the past 11 years. He has an extensive background in management and engineering. Under his leadership, the Concrete Pipe Association has been prominent in supporting quality standards within the industry and providing access to up-to-date technical information and support, and seminar and training programmes on concrete pipes, associated products and competing materials.
He has also gained extensive experience in previous roles working for Taylor Thomson Whitting Consulting Engineers and the New South Wales Government.
Mr McGuire is looking forward to his move to Wellington and working with the team at CCANZ, whom he describes as dedicated professionals.
“I’m passionate about concrete and the industry,” he says. “I’m looking forward to the challenge of my new role at CCANZ in ensuring concrete remains the premier building and construction material in New Zealand.”
Patrick will take up his new role at CCANZ on 11 July 2005.
