Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...
SYDNEY, 2 MAR: Australia's new current affairs magazine INVESTIGATE has forced rival ACP title The Bulletin to play catch-up, after only a week on the newsstands.
In what INVESTIGATE editor James Morrow calls "a stunning example of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery", the Bulletin has copied the cover story and cover concept from INVESTIGATE's first issue and run it as the lead in the latest Bulletin.

INVESTIGATE's cover story (published on 23 February 2005), "Most Likely To Succeed", profiles the man who many believe will be Australia’s next PM, Peter Costello. The exclusive interview, delves into his attitudes on faith, family, and the role government has to play in people's lives.
The Bulletin's cover story (published 2 March 2005), proclaims its own "Exclusive Interview" with "The next Prime Minister" which likewise covers nearly identical topics to the INVESTIGATE interview.
Says INVESTIGATE's Morrow: "We're flattered, honestly we are. We're positioning INVESTIGATE as Australia's leading current affairs magazine, and we hadn't expected such strong proof to emerge after just a week on sale."
INVESTIGATE is on sale at more than 4,000 news agents and retailers across Australia.
