Stephen Selwood appointed as Infrastructure Council CEO
The New Zealand Council for Infrastructure Development (NZCID) has appointed Stephen Selwood as its Chief Executive. Mr Selwood was previously a senior manager with the NZ Automobile Association, most recently as General Manager Transport Policy, responsible for the Association's policy development and advocacy for road infrastructure, transport, safety and motoring issues.
Announcing the appointment, the Council's Chairman, Hon Jim McLay said that NZCID was delighted to have secured Stephen Selwood's services.
"Stephen brings real experience in the development of infrastructure policy," Mr McLay said. "His mandate is to grow the organisation and ensure the Council becomes the leading advocate for infrastructure development in New Zealand."
NZCID was established last year. Its membership includes developers, constructors, financiers, providers and users of infrastructure from the public and private sectors. Its primary purpose is to promote the provision of world class infrastructure for the benefit of New Zealanders.
Mr McLay said that the Council is not a lobby group. "Our role is to advocate for further infrastructure development, whether public or private sectors."
Mr Selwood said he was delighted to take up the NZCID position, "because of the importance I attach to securing world-class infrastructure development for New Zealand's growth and prosperity."
