Meeting
The Dairy Farmers of New Zealand (DFNZ) Council Meeting will be held on 16 and 17 February 2005 at the Kingsgate Hotel, 100 Garnett Avenue, Te Rapa, Hamilton.
Dairy Farmers of New Zealand (DFNZ) is an industry group of Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc), representing the interests of the dairying sector.
Conference speakers include Chief Executive of Environment Waikato Harry Wilson on the future of dairying from the regional council’s perspective, Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment Dr Morgan Williams on his recent ‘Growing for Good’ report, and Federated Farmers’ new Chief Executive, Annabel Young.
Affco Holdings Chief Executive Tony Egan will update farmers on the marketing and processing of bobby calves following the closure of Dairy Meats. Affco is sponsoring the meeting, along with Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-operative, the National Bank of New Zealand, New Zealand Post and FMG.
Issues up for discussion include Fonterra's capital structure review, compliance costs, and industry good funding. DFNZ Vice Chairman Eliot Cooper will give an update on the lower North Island floods - one year on.
