Escape Winter With Freedom Air’s Lowest Ever Auckland Fares
Dreading another wet and drab Auckland winter? New Zealand’s only locally-owned low cost airline Freedom Air today announced its lowest ever Auckland to Queensland airfares for travel starting winter 2005.
The $89* one way fare from Auckland to Brisbane and the Gold Coast is available now until 27 February, for travel from 12 May – 30 June. * Internet only fares, plus taxes, levies and surcharges of NZD$41 (Gold Coast), NZD$44 (Brisbane).
Freedom Air sales and marketing manager Rachel Gardiner says that Aucklanders love their city but equally love the sun. “There’s no better place to be than on the Gold Coast or Brisbane, soaking up the rays, when winter hits town. We just thought we’d make it really easy for Aucklanders to escape and we know that with our Christmas holidays behind us, we’re all starting to think about our next break.”
In addition, Freedom has dropped its lead in prices from $189 to $179 from 1st July 05. New Zealand’s only locally-owned low cost airline is also making it just as easy for Australians to visit Auckland with equally low fares from Brisbane and the Gold Coast to Auckland.
The ‘escape winter’ fares are just the latest in a number of pricing initiatives from Freedom Air this month which reinforces its position as price leader in the highly competitive trans Tasman market. It recently launched a ‘take a mate’ two for the price of one promotion and a $99 Valentine’s Day special for all New Zealand ports.
The Small Print
The special fares are for travel between 12 May and 30 June 2005 inclusive on ex Auckland flights only. Seats at these prices are limited and may not be available on all flights. They are only available online at www.freedomair.com until 17 February 2005. Bookings can also be made through the Reservation Centre on 0800 600 500 where a service fee of $10 each way, per adult, applies.
Fares, taxes and insurance surcharges vary between individual Australian departure ports so check out www.freedomair.com or call 0800 600 500 to calculate a return fare. Other conditions also apply to this offer.
Freedom Air is 100% owned by Air New Zealand.
