Kim Crawford Wine For The Tongue Tied Valentine
Kim Crawford Launches Wine For The Tongue Tied Valentine
Liebling, the sweetest, most romantic little wine has been released by Kim Crawford Wines in time for Valentine’s Day.
Company Principal Erica Crawford says “Liebling has been a couple of years in the planning and I hope it will help the too often taciturn kiwi male, express his more tender hopes and feelings on Valentine’s Day.”
Liebling is sold only in 375ml half bottles and is an off dry white wine made from Chardonnay. It is made in a generously flavoursome style, made to be very approachable.
“Certainly” says Erica “more approachable than men find the topic of love and intimacy. Kiwi Blokes are great fun to be with, generous and helpful. Sometimes they are a little stoic and the unflappable ‘no worries mate’, qualities that have seen them through a couple of wars, relief efforts worldwide and other sorts of dramas throughout the years, including increasingly disappointing All Black World Cup campaigns, can have it’s drawbacks.
Sometimes they have a little trouble expressing themselves – usually in matters relating to the heart! (Trust me I know. I married one!) So, to help out our Kiwi boys, we made Liebling, to say “I love you” without actually saying the words!”
Erica, who left her native South Africa to marry Waikato born and bred winemaker Kim says the word Liebling isn’t common in kiwi use so adds an air of romantic mystery too. “Liebling means “darling” in German. My grandmother used to say it to us during her rare displays of affection and it has stayed with me forever. It is an unusual way of saying “I love you” and perfectly sums up this special wine.
Too good to blend away, this small parcel of wine is made from 100 per cent Chardonnay grapes from Gisborne. It has intense peach flavours with hints of apricot and honey. Lush, seductive and truly lovely.
When you struggle to say “I love you”, Liebling will do it for you. This Valentine’s Day, Give it to some one you love.
