Harcourts Appointment to Continue Auction Focus

Harcourts Appointment to Continue Auction Focus Strategy

A new national appointment for Harcourts will see the largest real estate group in New Zealand further drive its expansion in the key auction sector. Andrew North has been appointed National Auction Manager, replacing David Clifton who has moved into business ownership within the Harcourts Group.

Mr North’s real estate background began while studying towards a Business degree at Lincoln University. Purchasing a house with a friend exposed him to the real estate industry where he found himself entering sales and eventually auctioneering with his last three years in Christchurch at the highly successful Harcourts Ilam office.

Following a move to Auckland, Mr North joined another real estate brand when the opportunity came up to establish an auction division, along with a sales management role, taking the North Shore office to number one in the area.

On the brink of office ownership, Mr North was offered the opportunity to rejoin Harcourts in the corporate role as National Auction Manager where he said “the opportunity to work with the superior systems and talented people was too good to pass up.”

He noted that since moving to Auckland three years ago, “Harcourts has made significant inroads in to Auckland with the momentum really starting to unfold. I believe the full effect of Harcourts’ focus on building significant presence and marketshare here has yet to really be felt.”

Mr North’s new role combines developing Harcourts’ auction upskilling and strategies nationwide with a business development role for Harcourts’ 12 North Shore offices. In addition, his auctioneering skills will also be available to Harcourts offices throughout Auckland.

CEO of Harcourts New Zealand, Bryan Thomson (a past New Zealand auctioneer representative) said, “Andrew North has long been identified as an individual with outstanding potential. His professional growth over recent years makes him an example for others to follow and we look forward to his ongoing development as he works with others within Harcourts.”
