Christmas comes early at new Robyn Mathieson

Fashion Christmas comes early at new Robyn Mathieson concept store

The red carpet has been rolled out by fashion designer Robyn Mathieson who celebrates the opening of her new Wellington concept store at 183 Featherston Street on Friday 17 December 2004.

The new store will be a Christmas treat for women who love the classic Robyn Mathieson style.

Robyn Mathieson says she was ready to take the next step and wanted a fresh look.

"We have taken our brand to the heart of Wellington, giving a stronger presence to our loyal customers who wear our ranges for working days and weekends."

Robyn Mathieson brought in designer George Rose to provide a new image for her store, that features minimalist lighting and layout, and cool retro colours to complement Robyn’s distinctive style.

The Robyn Mathieson Spring/Summer range "Unbound" features pin-striped red dresses and swinging skirts mixed with old school trousers and cardigans.

Robyn Mathieson says her collection is a return to the classic styles of the 1940's and 1950's, acknowledging the freedom women have won since that time.

She says the range is for girls who like to play dress up with stylish classic pieces in their wardrobe, that are ideal for work functions and social events in the Christmas season.

The Robyn Mathieson brand is sold exclusively through the two Robyn Mathieson stores, in Wellington and Auckland. Beginning with one small retail store, the Robyn Mathieson label began in 1991.
