Bartercard New Zealand continues to rank #1 in the world
of sixteen Bartercard Countries.
Bartercard New Zealand Ltd was acquired by Tony Falkenstein and the Red Eagle Group in September 2001.
In April 2002 Denis Orme returned after twenty years in the USA and took over the role of repositioning Bartercard into e-commerce and commercial barter. The latter being an $8B USA industry.
The repositioning included:
„« establishing a robust e-commerce platform for nationwide and international trading.
„« Becoming an aggregator and using the strength of the client base to negotiate substantial discounts from b2b suppliers.
„« Opening new offices in Taranaki, Manawatu, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough.
„« Moving sports sponsorships into business-related organisations including: Zonta for Professional Women, EMA Northern, New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation, Tourism Bay of Plenty, Rotorua and Hawkes Bay Business Awards. Bartercard is also now a sponsor of NZSO.
As part of the repositioning and in order to get closer to client needs several months ago Regional Manager positions were established.
The Result: Bartercard New Zealand Ltd remains International Licensee of the Year -- benchmarked across a range of Key Performance Indicators against 15 other Bartercard countries.
Bartercard New Zealand Ltd has grown from 4,900 business members to 5,530 in two years and these members trade more $15-20M monthly through twelve New Zealand locations.
