Meridian Energy rewards loyalty

Meridian Energy rewards loyalty

Meridian Energy is giving away four energy efficient and environmentally friendly Toyota Prius cars.

Four lucky Meridian Energy residential customers will win one car each over the coming year as part of a new customer loyalty scheme: Meridian Rewards.

“As a company committed to renewable energy and energy efficiency, we thought it only fitting that we should reward our loyal customers with the chance to win one of the most energy efficient cars available in New Zealand,” says Meridian Energy spokesman Alan Seay.

The award winning Toyota Prius uses a hybrid petrol-electric system – this delivers exceptional fuel economy and produces very low vehicle emissions.

The first of the four cars, valued at $43,500, will be given away in February next year, with draws for the other three cars in May, August and November. Residential customers will automatically be entered in each draw, with one entry for each full year they have been a Meridian customer.

“The Toyota Prius is the first commercial petrol-electric hybrid vehicle available in New Zealand and is a major technological and environmental advance. Toyota has used advanced technology to produce electricity with the minimum impact on the environment, a goal that Meridian strives for at its hydro and wind generating plants,” concludes Mr Seay.

The prize cars are the Toyota Prius Hybrid 1.5L, winner of the 2004 New Zealand Energywise rally and 2005 European Car of the Year award.
