Hyundai Tiburon sports into 2005
The much admired Hyundai Tiburon has been upgraded for 2005.
Hyundai’s classy Tiburon now comes to New Zealand in an exciting new package to set hearts racing among young and old.
It’s already been acclaimed overseas: in the UK the Tiburon recently snatched Used Car Buyer magazine’s ‘Coupe of the Year 2005’ Award from under the noses of the Toyota Celica and Audi TT.
“This is the model that sets the standard for its class,” says the General Manager of Hyundai Automotive New Zealand Philip Eustace. “The Tiburon is as impressive to drive as it is to look at.
“Now we can introduce the 2005 range with a whole new level of spec which is sure to win accolades here in New Zealand.”
At the top of the range the 2.7-litre V6 Tiburon, now sitting on a special new lightweight version of the stunning 17" alloy wheels. The model is detailed with a sunroof and electric chromic rear view mirror, and boasts a six-speed manual or 4-stage auto sportshift.
Meanwhile the great-value 2-litre CVVT Tiburon now has four airbags and leather-trimmed steering wheel. This model comes with 4-stage auto sportshift.
Hyundai, a leader in safety, has added Electronic Stability Program (ESP) packaged with Brake Assist System (BAS) in place of the former Traction Control System (TCS) on both models.
Tiburon’s advanced aerodynamic styling combines an aggressive front end with sleek, clean rear. A broad new front air intake integrates fog lights, while black bezel headlights with clear turn signal lamps enhance the sporty looks of the coupe.
New scalloped sides are reminiscent of the most exotic Italian stallions. And a rounded rear stoplight augment the well laid out, dynamic looks of the rear end … the view most people have of the admirable Tiburon.
Within the stylish, sporty interior are found new, high quality materials, fabrics and leather. Upgraded seat styles, centre fascia with metal grain and light grey lining overhead distinguish the cockpit.
Do you believe a sports coupe should be red? Silver? Tiburon offers an exciting range of colour options to support the 2005 model’s impressive display of strength and agility.
Priced from $34,990, the Tiburon epitomises the sporty approach to Hyundai’s growing reputation for quality, value and safety. In its 2005 guise, this is the total driving experience. Footnote
Used Car Buyer is the UK’s only consumer magazine dedicated to the buying and selling of used cars, and its panel of motoring writers and industry experts voted the Hyundai Coupe Best Used Coupe at the recent awards ceremony.
The magazine stated: "The Hyundai took the annual honours beating close rivals Audi TT and Toyota Celica. The Hyundai V6 Coupe was marked highest for fitness for purpose, value for money, running costs, reliability, residual value and image."
Guy Baker, Used Car Buyer’s Features Editor, said: "The Hyundai Coupe 2.7 V6 is a gem, a fantastic looking coupe with build quality to match. The handling and ride too are first class, giving heavyweight contenders Toyota Celica and Ford Puma a real run for their money.
"Buyers can enjoy a combination of value-for-money and peace-of-mind that Audi TT owners could only dream of. The brand awareness among the public at large has yet to reach its full potential, but for those in the know this gem is worth its weight in gold."
The Hyundai Coupe has proved to be a huge hit in the UK, in recent months beginning to outsell the Celica and TT.
