New Boutique Lodge Opens In Lake Wanaka, NZ

New Boutique Lodge Opens In Lake Wanaka, New Zealand

An avenue of lime trees leads the way to Wanaka’s newest boutique accommodation, Lime Tree Lodge, which opened its doors to guests this week (26 November 2004).

Targeted at independent travellers looking for luxury accommodation, the lodge is set on a 10-acre estate just outside Lake Wanaka. The rustic Central Otago exterior, featuring local schist stone, opens into a modern and stylish interior with no expense spared on making the surroundings comfortable for guests.

Four spacious en-suite guestrooms and two superior suites make up the accommodation, all with French doors opening out to an expansive veranda and gardens with magnificent views of the Southern Alps. Crisp white linen covers the beds while contemporary New Zealand art graces the walls.

Guests have exclusive use of the open-plan lounge and dining area which features an open log fire for those cosy winter evenings and leads out to landscaped gardens where guests can enjoy complimentary aperitifs.

Managers Sally Carwardine and Rebecca Butts have overseen a major renovation of the lodge over the past four months to bring the rooms and facilities up to the high standard expected by discerning international travellers.

“We wanted to create a luxurious haven where visitors could leave the stresses of the outside world behind and enjoy this spectacular part of New Zealand in style,” said Carwardine.

Other facilities at Lime Tree Lodge include a swimming pool, spa pool and five-hole pitch and putt golf course. The lodge is due to be re-assessed by Qualmark, in view of the refurbishment undertaken, early in the New Year.
