AMP investment specialist secures global qualification

Anthony Sowerby, CFA, Investment Specialist with AMP Savings & Investment in Auckland, has earned the right to use the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation.

Sowerby is one of only 31 candidates to pass all three levels of the CFA Program in the 2004 contingent and one of just 68 CFA charterholders in New Zealand. Nigel Croke, CFA, from AMP Capital Investors has also previously earned the right to use the designation.

The CFA designation is acknowledged as a leading global qualification for the investment industry and is recognised as the definitive standard for measuring competence and integrity in the fields of portfolio management and investment analysis. In order to earn the right to use the CFA designation, a candidate must pass three levels of rigorous, self-study examinations and have three years work experience in the investment industry.

Sowerby will be presented with his charter at the New Zealand CFA Charter Award Ceremony on 30 November 2004 by Dr Robert Johnson CFA, Vice-President of the CFA Program from the CFA Institute, Charlottesville, VA, USA.
