GDC awarded $1.6 million Services contract
GDC Communications Limited has further increased the revenue base of its Services division, winning a two-year infrastructure replacement contract with Downer Connect Ltd
The new contract – at a base revenue level of approximately $800,000 per year – is for work under Telecom New Zealand’s infrastructure replacement programme. It covers the Auckland and Counties region and is effective from 1st October, 2004
The new contract continues the repositioning of GDC’s Services division in view of the pending expiry of contracts with Telecom during 2004 and 2005. This has involved negotiating replacement work on a sub-contract basis, securing work on other telecommunications networks not previously available to the company, and reducing the cost base in line with revenue expectations.
The new contract is additional to work totaling approximately $10 million already announced by the Services division. GDC Communications is an NZX-listed company specialising in the provision of voice and data solutions and communication networks. It has six branch offices throughout New Zealand and 280 people with a variety of skill sets to service and support its customers.
The company aims to be world-class in the provision of high value voice and data solutions as a managed service for customers, and in the design, installation and maintenance of communication infrastructures.
