Polaris Way Out Ride a hit with ATV owners
Polaris Way Out Ride a hit with ATV owners
Owners of ATVs have welcomed the new Polaris trail days, the Way Out Rides.
The first event, staged at the weekend near Dargaville, attracted more than 70 ATV riders for a day of back country riding.
“It was a great success,” commented Polaris organiser Shayn Rouse.
“Even though the weather forecast wasn’t good we had a big turnout and everyone had a great time.
“There were no serious spills, we raised funds for charity and riders are enthusiastic to do it again.”
The next Way Out Ride will be held near Te Awamutu on Sunday 31 October and Polaris plans more through the country.
The rides provide the four-wheelers with all-day back-country outings for the whole family, with a charity benefit.
“It’s not just for Polaris owners, we welcome all makes of ATV,” Mr Rouse explained. “On Saturday we had about 25 Polaris owners.
“It’s a chance for ATV riders to get out on the trail without two-wheelers … we’ve found bikes and ATVs don’t always go well together because of the different types of riding and terrain.”
Riders interested in the Te Awamutu event can contact Wayne Shaw on (07) 871 7321.
Further Polaris Way Out Rides are planned at Waiuku, Kumeu-Silverdale, Rotorua-Whakatane, Thames, Hawkes Bay, and subsequently further south including the South Island.
