Nuffield Farming Scholars
Welcomes Rabobank Support
New Zealand Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust is pleased to announce Rabobank New Zealand as a major funder of the Nuffield farming scholarships.
“The trust is delighted by Rabobank’s support, which affirms its commitment to the future of the agriculture industry,” said Alistair Polson, Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust Chairman.
“In addition to Rabobank’s generous support the partnership means access to Rabobank’s European network of contacts, which will be very useful to Nuffield scholars as they pursue their chosen study,” said Mr Polson.
Rabobank New Zealand is a part of the international Rabobank Group, the world's leading specialist in food and agribusiness banking. Rabobank has more than 100 years' experience providing customised banking and finance solutions to businesses involved in all aspects of food and agribusiness.
“We are extremely excited about this association as knowledge and adding value to agriculture are key principles for the bank,” says Rabobank General Manager Doug Crombie. “Nuffield has demonstrated similar objectives over a considerable period. This is a great fit.”
Nuffield Farming Scholarships promote leadership and the implementation of innovative practices in agriculture through worldwide study and interpersonal contact. The scholarships give successful applicants the opportunity to develop a better understanding of New Zealand and international relationships by studying farming, agricultural marketing or agricultural organisational practices internationally.
Nuffield awards two or three scholarships each year, giving successful applicants the opportunity to travel overseas to study the latest agricultural developments, and meet leaders and decision makers not accessible to the ordinary traveller. Applications for 2005 have closed, and successful applicants will be announced in November.
