One week left to apply for Skycity Hamilton community trust funding
Local community groups seeking funding for their charitable causes have just one more week to apply for a grant in the second annual SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust funding round.
The close off date is this Thursday 30 September 2004 at 5.00pm. Trust Chairperson Margaret Evans urges community groups and charitable organisations in the Waikato region to act quickly to avoid missing the cut off date.
“As per last year we expect to receive a wide range of applications from a variety of local community organisations seeking donations from a few hundred dollars through to those seeking amounts for more substantial funding requirements.
“The Trust will consider applications for planned community work that will provide a demonstrable positive benefit to people in the Waikato region. We support a broad range of initiatives from community projects, tourism programmes and projects that promote arts and culture.
“We urge organisations to submit their applications by this Thursday for the Trust’s consideration.
“We expect to have the list of successful applicants confirmed by mid November 2004 with grants being presented to those groups at a special function on the 8th of December,” said Ms Evans.
Each year in August/September, the SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust will invite applications for grants from charitable organisations and for community initiatives. Funds available for distribution by the Trust are 1.5% of the revenue from SKYCITY Hamilton’s casino operations.
