Hyundai strikes gold at Olympics

Hamish Carter wasn’t the only Hyundai face who won gold at Athens.
Olympics sponsor Hyundai counted 850,000 movements of passengers and material on the vehicle fleet it supplied to the Games.

The fleet ran 7 million km in two and a half weeks.

A total of 3,700 Hyundai vehicles exclusively branded the Olympic lane that ran through the city of Athens, connecting all Olympic venues and meeting points.

The vehicles were used to transport athletes, members of the organising committee and VIPs. They also transported the athletes' equipment to various event locations.

More than 250,000 Olympic spectators visited a special Hyundai entertainment centre in Athens during the games.

“It’s great to report that the Hyundai maintenance staff in Greece showed true Olympic spirit, guaranteeing complete mobility of all 3,700 vehicles around the clock,” commented the General Manager of Hyundai in New Zealand, Philip Eustace.

“Despite the immense task of organising the Olympic fleet, it was most satisfying for Hyundai to receive enthusiastic feedback on its sponsorship.

“Hyundai successfully promoted its brand and showed once again that it is vibrant and truly moving people."
