World’s leading leadership speakers to address New Zealand business summit
Five of the Worlds most respected business leadership speakers and thinkers are heading to New Zealand in early October
for what organisers claim is the single most important and comprehensive leadership education forum ever to be held in
this region.
The speaking line-up, secured by the New Zealand Institute of Management in association with the wider Asian Association
of Management Organisations, includes Lynn Brewer, the former Enron executive who helped expose massive bank fraud
amongst other mis-dealings by the former corporate giant and wrote of her time with the company in the best-selling book
“House of Cards: confessions of an Enron Executive”.
The International Leadership Summit will feature a key note address by Frances Hesselbein, president and CEO of the
Peter F Drucker Foundation, author of “Hesselbein on Leadership”, Chair of the Board of The leader to Leader Institute
and considered one of the most innovative and inspiring leaders in business education today.
Visionary leadership writer and organisational consultant Margaret Wheatley will put focus on the modern-day Leadership
Challenge and acclaimed author, educator and leadership researcher and commentator, Jim Collins will make a special
satellite appearance to conduct an inter-active session on attaining the highest levels of business management and
leadership.
Motivational futurist Ed Barlow from the US, and former Kiwi, Neville Bain, now the UK based chair of Hogg Robinson plc
and a business consultant, also join the speakers line-up with other local and regional business leaders, amongst them
Air New Zealand CEO Ralph Norris and creator of the acclaimed Management Capability Index, Doug Matheson, to discuss
leadership and performance values in business.
New Zealand Institute of Management national CEO, David Chapman, says never before in this region has such visionary and
leadership fire-power been assembled at a single forum.
“Its purpose is to stimulate, challenge and provide differing perspectives and insights to the challenge of leadership
in this age of rapid change. It brings together people as well as global perspectives on business and leadership issues
to put a world of knowledge and experience right at out fingertips.”
Chapman says interactive workshops and expert panel discussions will also help in the identification and consideration
of emerging leadership challenges and set a pathway to how they may best be managed.
Chapman says the International Leadership Summit has already attracted top business and social leaders from eight
countries around the Asia-Pacific region and expects capacity for the 7 9 October Auckland event to be quickly taken up.
The Summit is being marketed throughout the region and will be held in conjunction with the annual conference and
meeting of the Asian Association of Management Organisations.
A full Summit programme and registration details are available from any branch of the New Zealand Institute of
Management or at www.nzim.co.nz
