Sarah Ulmer – Riding To Victory, Driven By Ford
The 'Golden Girl' of New Zealand's 2004 Olympic team, Sarah Ulmer, enjoys a special relationship with Ford New Zealand – the Motor Company has been Sarah's vehicle supplier for the past six years.
"Ford's support was one contributing factor which enabled me to enjoy a smooth preparation while training, and in turn win the race and also set the new world record," said Sarah.
"Even though people might think I ride my bike almost everywhere, I still need a safe and comfortable vehicle for day to day use. Throughout our long sponsorship I've been lucky enough to drive a number of new Fords, and I'm now really enjoying driving a new Ford Focus."
In addition to being one of the 'faces of Ford,' Sarah has been involved with the Motor Company on many different levels. She has been a guest speaker at a number of media and staff related occasions, has appeared in an ad campaign and has also worked with Ford in various charity events.
"I really enjoy being associated with Ford – not only do their cars get me places where my wheels can't go, but as a company they are involved in a lot of new and exciting initiatives which allow me an opportunity to get out and meet interesting people."
"I'm grateful for their support, as it's enabled me to win and hopefully in turn make the whole of New Zealand proud."
