Winter Relief from Northpower Electric Power Trust

Winter Relief from Northpower Electric Power Trust

Northpower Electric Power Trust (NEPT) is granting their customers a winter relief with a $50 credit on their July power bills.

Eligible Northpower customers will receive a dividend in the form of a credit, regardless of which electricity retailer sends out their power bill.

NEPT chairman, Erc Angelo, says the dividend being paid out is the customers’ share of Northpower’s profits paid to the Trust by Northpower. The NEPT owns Northpower on behalf of the beneficiaries, which are ultimately the customers.

“We are pleased to be able to pass on a dividend to customers, which reflects the continuing strength and success of our lines company, Northpower.”

In addition to the dividends from the NEPT, customers have also enjoyed line holidays from Northpower, which has some of the lowest line charges in the country.

Northpower supplies electricity to the region through a number of electricity retailers, including Meridian, Genesis, Contact and Mercury.

“We receive constant feedback from people on the benefits of keeping Northpower in local ownership,” says Mr Angelo.

The credit is paid on each power installation (ICP) connected to the Northpower network as at midnight 20th July 2004. If, for any reason, customers do not receive the $50 credit on their following power bills, they should contact the NEPT information line on 0800 434 100.
