New Masport Website New Business Direction

New-Look Website Coincides With New Business Direction For Icon Nz Company

http://www.masport.com relaunched as part of the company’s new business strategy

Auckland, 20 July 2004: New Zealand’s lawn and garden manufacturer, Masport Limited, has relaunched its website to coincide with a change in business direction for the icon New Zealand company, now in its 94th year.

Masport’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark von Batenburg, says the relaunch is part of a wider strategy and represents a shift in business direction for the renowned New Zealand company.

“We have spent the past two years and several million dollars developing and researching a new lawn mower which we believe will revolutionise the home garden equipment industry. The Masport Series V (MSV) is a state-of-the-art lawn mower, and launch of this exciting new product along with our new-look website optimises the direction Masport is now taking. Our goal is to boldly take an icon business into the future and we are confident the MSV and our new website will greatly assist us in this process.”

The revised site, http://www.masport.com, features a wealth of information about Masport products in a clear, concise, and user-friendly format. High quality imagery and leading edge design allows users to easily browse product categories, enter a search term or ask Masport specific questions about its brands and products.

Von Batenburg says providing customers and trade with greater product information is a key focus for Masport as well as the opportunity to add value where possible.

“Customers and dealers can now not only view technical information and product images, they can also download product manuals, browse a ‘frequently asked questions’ page, and register warranty cards online,” he says. “A dealer locator function provides a comprehensive list of Masport dealers across New Zealand and Australia and enables customers to quickly identify the retailer closest to them”.

Von Batenburg says the website will also be an invaluable tool for Masport dealers, who can now login and check dealer specific pricings, order online and access additional technical information. Furthermore, replacement parts can also now be ordered online from a fully illustrated parts list directly, significantly speeding up the process for dealers and customers. Users will also be able to request contact from the Masport call centre through the feedback section.

“We are confident the new MSV and the website will enable us to further enhance and reposition our brand across Australasia,” says von Batenburg. “The launch of the MSV is being supported by an extensive advertising campaign including print, TV, billboard and airport displays.

“These activities, combined with the relaunch of our website, will further build customer loyalty and brand awareness of the Masport brand, what it represents, and the new cutting-edge direction the company is taking.”

About Masport Limited: Founded in 1910, Masport originally made vacuum pumps and stationary engines for the farming industry. Within 20 years it had produced the first Masport ‘Rapid’ hand mower and by 1938 had produced the country’s first powered lawn mower.
