Leigh Hart (That Guy) from the popular TV show will have a special Sports Café set on the Hyundai stand.
"The Sports Café show is just another way we are driving Hyundai into new areas," explained Hyundai Automotive New Zealand General Manager Philip Eustace.
"Some exciting new Hyundai models we are bringing to New Zealand are infused with that same blend of fun and seriousness you get from the Hyundai Sportscafe crew.
"Cars like the very popular little Getz and our growing range of SUV all-terrain vehicles are attracting an entire new generation of Hyundai drivers."
One of the new models creating a buzz in motoring media overseas might be at Mystery Creek: Hyundai is arranging a sneak preview of its new 4WD, the Tucson.
Re-creating the entry level to Hyundai's 4x4 range, the Tucson (pronounced Too-son) complements the larger Santa Fe and Terracan. It is expected to be a strong competitor for models such at Rav4 and CR-V when it is launched in New Zealand on 1 August.
"It's not been easy to get a pre-release Tucson here in time for Fieldays, but it's worth the effort to display such a trend-setting vehicle," said Mr Eustace.
"We are proud to add the Tucson to our range."
It uses a 'torque-on-demand' 4x4 system. The car runs in front-wheel drive until it detects loss of traction, then the 4x4 cuts in. It will then revert to two-wheel drive when adequate traction is detected.
Additionally at low speeds the driver can select permanent 4x4 for extra control when required at the touch of a button. A mass-market leader in safety initiatives focused on reliability and quality as well a value, the Hyundai group is now the seventh largest car manufacturer in the world and aims for the top five by the end of the decade.
