New Zealand Post Supports The Rutherford Trust
New Zealand Post announced today its further support of New Zealand's culture and heritage by sponsoring the collection of 20th century artworks through The Rutherford Trust.
John Allen, Chief Executive of New Zealand Post said that as a dedicated supporter of the arts and the community, the Company was pleased to be making the work of some of New Zealand's finest 20th century artists more accessible to New Zealanders.
"The Trust has assembled a rich and diverse collection of some 138 works of art by some of New Zealand's best known artists.
"It's important that New Zealanders have access to these works and New Zealand Post is working with the Trust to create opportunities to display these works around the country," Mr Allen said.
Mr Victor Wu, Chairman of The Rutherford Trust, said we are delighted to have New Zealand Post as our new sponsor.
"This "partnership" will bring renewed enthusiasm for the Trust's exhibitions and activities throughout New Zealand and we hope it will endure for many years."
The Rutherford Trust
was established in 1988 as part of the Electricity
Corporation of New Zealand's commitment to "encourage and
enhance New Zealand's cultural life and heritage" and to
form a collection which reflects the development of 20th
century New Zealand art, where excellence of achievement,
rather than fashion, is the key criterion.
