House of Travel Endorses CHC - LAX Direct
House of Travel Commercial Director, Tony Moffatt was delighted with Air New Zealand's announcement this morning regarding direct flights from Christchurch to Los Angeles from early November.
House of Travel, a private company, which was established in 1987 from Christchurch, believed the announcement would certainly encourage more people to travel further a field.
"In the past our clients have had to fly via Auckland which has involved more time and an extra stop. Being able to fly directly to Los Angeles from Christchurch and then connect with other cities within the States and North America and ongoing flights to the United Kingdom and Europe will be very well received," he said.
House of Travel backed up Air New Zealand's remarks regarding New Zealanders travelling in greater numbers. Moffatt said South Island House of Travel outlets had experienced an increase in bookings of 46% to the States and Canada and 60% to the United Kingdom and Europe this year.
"This is fantastic for the whole of the South Island. It will open up more opportunities for business people heading to the States and Europe. It will also give tourism a real boost in the South Island with people being able to fly in to Auckland and the out of Christchurch or vice versa," Moffatt remarked.
