Run The Red a Finalist in Global SMS Awards

Mobile enablement company Run The Red has been named as a finalist in the SMS Mobile Messaging Association's inaugural Mobile Messaging Awards for its interactive gaming platform Red Play.

The winners will be announced in London at the Mobile Messaging Awards dinner on Tuesday 11 May.

"We are absolutely rapt to be named as a finalist in these international awards, which drew just under 100 entries from around the world," said Director Ben Northrop.

Run The Red's mobile application, RED-Play, is an interactive, multi-player SMS gaming application developed to support some of NZ's most successful text promotions, including the Telecom Americas Cup Text Challenge (more than 1,000,000 texts) and Game On (600,000 texts), which leveraged Telecom Mobile's sponsorship of NZ rugby.

"The success of RED-Play lies in its robustness and its ability to handle huge text volumes," said Ben Northrop.

"It's simple to use and provides the user with the ability to view campaigns in real time, target selected players with texts, view player information and measure the overall success of the project through detailed campaign statistics."

RED-Plays unique carrier grade gaming engine provides mobile operators, game developers and content providers with new and compelling ways to:

- Attract new customers

- Develop a large, qualified player database

- Promote a specific product, service, event or brand

Run The Red has been holding discussions with mobile operators and game developers in the UK, Brazil, South Africa and Australia, with the aim of licensing the RED-Play system overseas.

"We are confident that we have got a product in RED-Play that has truly global potential," said Ben Northrop.
