Growth and Innovation Framework Website Launch
Launch of New Zealand’s Growth and Innovation Framework
website
The Ministry of Economic Development launched this week a new website which offers an overview of the government’s approach to economic development, generally known as the Growth and Innovation Framework or GIF.
“GIF is the framework the government is using to develop policies and programmes that will help economic development and growth as well as a framework for practical action,” said Ministry of Economic Development Chief Executive Geoff Dangerfield.
“The Ministry has created the new website as part of its responsibility as a steward of the GIF process. It will act as a hub and provide information on, and access to, the wide range of government programmes that support economic development.”
The new website www.gif.med.govt.nz is designed to give easy and quick access to up-to-date information about GIF in one place. It contains different sections on GIF action areas, such as business, sectors and regions. At the same time the site can also act as a resource of reports and publications describing economic development in New Zealand.
Users will find links to websites that describe the government’s economic development programmes and schemes as well as policy papers. The website will help in building understanding about the evolving nature of GIF. “Economic development depends on businesses, the government and individual New Zealanders working together to build a better future for New Zealand,” said Mr Dangerfield.
“With the website we want to promote
dialogue about the future of New Zealand’s economic
development that will improve the quality of life of all New
Zealanders. A feedback tool will allow New Zealanders to
give us their views on economic development
issues.”
