Plunket babies to enjoy warmer, healthier family centres
Meridian Energy has completed the installation of $150,000 worth of energy efficiency equipment and products into Plunket’s 21 Family Centres around New Zealand.
Meridian Energy’s spokesperson Alan Seay says this project is the second part of the package that Meridian Energy promised Plunket following the early end of the 2003 Winter Energy Savings Rewards Programme. Meridian Energy has already given the first part of the package, a payment to Plunket of $500,000.
“We have installed heat pumps and, where necessary, other products such as insulation, heat transfer units and hot water cylinder wraps, into every Plunket Family Centre in New Zealand”.
The newly installed heat pumps will warm the centres in winter and cool them in summer. The energy efficient installations into the Family Centres should enable Plunket to reduce their energy use and energy costs, and will create drier and healthier family centres that are more comfortable for babies and families.”
Paul Baigent, Chief Executive of Plunket says the Meridian Energy efficiency project is a great initiative.
