Animal Management Systems Poised For New Growth

Gallagher Animal Management Systems Poised For New Growth Opportunities

Electric fence product leader Gallagher Animal Management Systems is poised to move its business up to the next level with the upcoming launch of new high-end technology products and an improved delivery model – initiatives that are expected to pay off big-time in a difficult marketplace.

CEO Bill Gallagher says the company has never been better placed to strengthen its position as world leader in electric fencing and animal management systems.

“Increased emphasis on research and development over the past year has resulted in a range of high end products and associated systems solutions that will be launched soon,” he says. “Our dealers and farmer customers will benefit directly from this.”

Gallagher says a half-yearly result of “several million dollars” for the Gallagher Group was a surprisingly good result in the face of tough conditions in domestic and offshore markets, and an exchange rate that continues to be disadvantageous for exporters.

“Despite the conditions, the Group performed well across the board – in both its animal management systems and business security systems divisions.

“We are at an exciting stage in our history. The technological changes within our rural businesses are occurring as rapidly as ever. While these are resulting in more internally complex products and systems, Gallagher’s new range and service model will ensure they are seamlessly integrated and more user-friendly.”

This is supported by Gallagher Animal Management Systems national sales manager, Brent Pownall, who says the company is placing even greater emphasis on providing on-farm support for its customers and, despite the economic environment, will be hiring new staff in this area.

“In addition to our nine territory managers, we’ll soon have two key account managers and two technical support managers in the field,” he says. “This will mean added value for dealers and exceptional service for farmers.”

Pownall’s understandably secretive about the imminent launch of the new high-end model before a formal roadshow launch in late April. However, he can say it will provide farmers with a complete solution and will establish Gallaghers once and for all as the true technology leader in electric fencing products.

“In terms of power and coverage, it’s significantly superior to any other system on the market.”

Pownall stresses that the system will be backed up by his team of territory managers and technical advisors, so farmers needn’t feel daunted by the new technology.

The introduction of the new system comes on top of Gallaghers’ successful launch of the Franklin Electric Fencing brand throughout all Farmlands stores. This brand comprises a full range of electric fencing products as well as Franklin’s existing (complete) gate and gate hardware system range.

The Franklin brand has the distinction of being the first complete range of electric fencing to hit the market in 20 years.

Bill Gallagher describes the new developments within his company as living proof of its commitment to its customers.

“We are totally committed to providing added value for our customers both in terms of new and improved systems, and in providing ongoing customer education and back-up.”
