Foodstuff Stores Send Supermarket Supplies To Niue

New World, Pak 'N Save And Four Square Stores Send Supermarket Supplies To Niue

Auckland area New World, Pak 'N Save and Four Square stores are sending 20 pallets of supermarket supplies to Cyclone Heta victims in Niue.

Foodstuffs (Auckland) Limited managing director Tony Carter says the goods include soups, bottled water, flour, sugar, cereal, canned fish, toilet paper and other essentials.

"They're being sent on behalf of our stores via our subsidiary James Gilmour Limited. I'm delighted that some of our suppliers are also donating some of the goods going up," he says.

"With the majority of Niue's expatriate community living in the Auckland area, it seems only right that our stores do what they can to relieve the devastation."

The New World, Pak 'N Save and Four Square-donated goods leave on the next available flight from Whenuapai.

Mr Carter says Foodstuffs is also working with the New Zealand Government as to what further immediate relief is required and will be sending that up next week.
