DAIRY INSIGHT ANSWERS QUESTIONS
Dairy InSight is responding to a number of questions raised during its consultation meetings with dairy farmers last month - by posting the questions and the answers on its website, http://www.dairyinsight.co.nz/ .
Dairy InSight Chief Executive Peter Bodeker says the organisation, responsible for co-ordinating and funding dairy industry good activities, held 18 meetings throughout the country and had many questions asked covering a range of topics.
"There were some very good questions asked on matters from how we select projects to fund and increasing farmer input, to issues around Tb funding and control work.
"We recognise the meetings were held at a busy time on the farm, so many of our levy-paying members were unable to attend the meeting nearest them," Mr Bodeker says.
"By posting this information on our website, farmers can access it at a time suitable to them and keep up-to-speed with our activities. It also enables farmers to get a feel for any issues raised by their peers."
Mr Bodeker says the consultation meetings aimed to give dairy farmers an opportunity to find out more about the industry good investment portfolio that has been developed by Dairy InSight on their behalf.
Representatives from three key investment areas of Dairy InSight's - Tb, the environment and extension - attended the meetings.
To view the questions and answers visit, http://www.dairyinsight.co.nz/. The website also has information on the 94 projects being funded in the 2003/2004 year and other Dairy InSight activities, including its first annual report.
