SIA Features The Widest Economy Class Seat In The Sky
Passengers flying Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) new Executive Economy Class on the A345LeaderShip will experience the
industry’s widest economy class seats at 20”. The seats also come with a larger personal monitor at 9", laptop power
supply, and many luxuries not usually available in standard business class.
The new cabin is scheduled to launch onboard SIA’s A345LeaderShip aircraft that will operate the world’s longest
non-stop commercial flight from between Singapore and Los Angeles on 3 February 2004.
Designed to keep globetrotters comfortable throughout the unprecedented 16 to 18 ½ hour flight between Singapore and Los
Angeles, the Executive Economy seats feature an expanded seat pitch of 37”, a seat-back recline of 8”, a leather
adjustable headrest, and extended leg and foot rests. A personal video monitor provides access to more than 250
on-demand entertainment options. AC power supply outlets are also available in the seats, enabling customers to power
their laptops throughout the flight.
The Executive Economy seats are positioned in a spacious 2-3-2 configuration. With just 117 such seats available on the
A345LeaderShip, it delivers a premium travel experience to the business traveller.
The new cabin will also feature the first in-flight lounge available in Economy Class, offering passengers an area to
socialize, stretch their legs and help themselves to snacks and beverages.
SIA’s A345LeaderShip is the latest aircraft type to join the airline’s fleet. The ultra-long range aircraft will operate
non-stop between Singapore and Los Angeles in February 2004 and then non-stop between Singapore and New York in August
2004. The aircraft cabin was designed, with just 64 Raffles (business) Class and 117 Executive Economy Class seats, to
offer customers greater comfort on the non-stop service.
